A jury on Thursday acquitted a former fifth-grade teacher in the Juab School District of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl.

Hadley D. Christensen, 39, of Nephi, was charged in January 2013 with aggravated sexual abuse of a child, a first-degree felony. He was accused of inviting a former student, who he had taught the year before, to his home on Dec. 22, 2012, and sexually assaulting her.

Christensen, who taught at Red Cliffs Elementary School in Nephi, had worked for the district for 11 years.

The jury acquitted Christensen on the fourth day of a trial in 4th District Court.
