Investigators are looking into a report of two decapitated puppies found in a Midvale pond.

Someone at an apartment complex near 1100 E. Fort Union Blvd. called Salt Lake County Animal Services on Friday to report that decapitated puppies turned up in a pond at the complex, said Mike Reberg , animal services director. The officers arrived, but the puppies had already been disposed of, Reberg said.

The first puppy allegedly was found Monday, and the second on Wednesday.

There are no surveillance cameras to check, so Reberg is asking anyone who has seen or knows anything to call animal services at 801-743-7045.
