Utah forecast: A hot weekend and maybe some rain

The Wasatch Front is in store for a hot weekend and possibly rain, according to the National Weather Service.

On Saturday, highs in Salt Lake City and Ogden are expected to hit about 90, with the thermometer dropping to the mid to low 60s overnight. Sunday highs will inch up a few degrees, to the low 90s, and the lows will be in the mid 60s, the weather service says.

In Lehi and Provo, the high should reach about 90 on Saturday and the low 90s on Sunday and the overnight lows will be from about 60 to the low 60s both nights.

Temperatures in Logan are predicted to hit the upper 80s on Saturday and around 90 on Sunday and drop to the mid 50s both nights. Park City highs will be in the mid to upper 80s and the lows from about 50 to the low 50s during the weekend, the weather service says.

The chance of showers and thunderstorms on Saturday afternoon for all these areas ranges from 20 percent to 30 percent.

The high in St. George is expected to be in the upper 90s on Saturday and about 100 on Sunday, with lows in the 70s.
