An 11-year-old girl is reportedly improving after suffering a head injury in a traffic accident.
She was in a Mazda stopped at 200 N. Highway 89 in Fruit Heights when a Jeep Cherokee pulling a small cargo trailer rear-ended the Mazda at a high rate of speed, according to the Utah Highway Patrol. The crash occurred about 11:24 a.m. Saturday.
The girl sustained injuries to her head and was taken by medical helicopter to Primary Children's Hospital in critical condition.
By about 9 p.m. Saturday, she had been upgraded to serious condition, according to UHP.
