Park City filmmaker goes after Big Business..

Patrick Lowell was one of 10 million people who lost their homes to foreclosure in the global financial crisis of 2008.

Lowell, a Park City filmmaker, got mad. And he got active, making a documentary that chronicles the foreclosure situation, the Occupy Wall Street movement and what he sees as Big Business' role in destroying the American Dream.

The resulting film, "Forward 13: Waking Up the American Dream," will have a free screening Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Tower Theatre, 876 E. 900 South, Salt Lake City.

Former Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson is scheduled to talk after the screening, on the topic of money in politics.

Here's how Lowell describes his film in press notes: "Coinciding with the exponential growth of the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) movement, Lovell embarks on a cross-country journey to discover what happened to the America originally founded to be free from tyranny. Conversations with a broad spectrum of energy and political academics, OWS protestors, professional developers, real estate agents, and attorneys all lead to the same conclusion: the system is broken."
