Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman doesn't think Mitt Romney will make a third attempt at the White House but Huntsman didn't rule out another bid himself.
Appearing on Fox News' Your World With Neil Cavuto, Huntsman was asked whether Romney might try to pull a hat-trick and run for a third time as some folks in the Republican Party have suggested.
"Gov. Romney's a good man,' Huntsman responded. "I think he's been abundantly clear about his desire to seek the presidency for the third time. I don't think that's in the cards."
Romney has said no time and time again when asked about another run for the presidency, though Huntsman himself has been coy. He played that role again Monday with Cavuto.
"You're going to get a whole lot of people who are going to run for president in 2016," Huntsman said.
"Are you?" Cavuto pressed.
"I'm not here as a candidate," Huntsman responded. "I've told you that before, Neil, I'm not here as a candidate.
"I thought I'd catch you at a weak moment when you're not thinking you're on TV."
"Thank you so much for your constant needling.
Huntsman also noted that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, an assumed 2016 candidate, is doing what comes natural in trying to differentiate between her foreign policy ideas and President Barack Obama's.
"That's probably not too unusual at this point in the political cycle," Huntsman said.
