Utah State's soccer team has been picked to finish fifth in the Mountain West as determined by a coaches' poll. Two-time defending champion San Diego State was picked to win the league again with 115 points followed by Colorado College with 112 points. Colorado College is joining the MWC soccer as an affiliate this year. Boise State was third with 103 points followed by New Mexico (88), Utah State (82), Fresno State (73), UNLV (55), Wyoming (51), Nevada (37), San Jose State and Colorado State (27) and Air Force (22). The Aggies finished 2013 with a 10-7-5 record and 5-3-2 mark in league play. I know in talking to the coaching staff and players the Aggies believe they can be an improved team this year, particularly with key defenders in Taryn Rose and Brooke Larsen-Leavitt returning. It looks like the Aggies believe in themselves more than other coaches do, which could be a good thing. The Aggies might be a little under-estimated, until they start rolling in the wins.
