The Utah Highway Patrol says a blown tire likely led to a fatal rollover crash on Interstate 15 in Box Elder County.

UHP Sgt. Todd Royce said Maria Morfin Arreola, 58, of Ogden, died from injuries sustained in the 8:30 a.m. Wednesday accident near the freeway's northbound Riverside exit.

Arreola was near mile post 384 when the right rear tire came apart, sending her 1999 Ford Explorer into the median, where it rolled repeatedly, crushing the roof in the process.

Arreola was wearing a seat belt, but suffered severe head trauma. She was taken by ambulance to Bear River Valley Hospital in Tremonton, where she was later pronounced dead.
