Fans of Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort's annual Oktoberfest heartily welcomed its return for 2014, especially given the brouhaha earlier this year over concern the state might not grant it a liquor license. After raising fears of a dry Oktoberfest, saying it was cracking down on single-event permits, the state liquor commission eventually granted the license. This year's Oktoberfest runs every Saturday and Sunday through Oct. 12. This weekend and next, military personnel with ID, and their families, can ride the resort's aerial tram for free, as part of the festival. Admission to Oktoberfest is free.
