The granddaddy of modern comic books is coming back to Salt Lake Comic Con.
Stan Lee, "Stan the Man," the legendary former head of Marvel Comics, will appear at the event in Salt Lake City's Salt Palace Convention Center, Comic Con organizers announced Thursday.
Lee is credited with co-creating many of Marvel's best-known characters, including Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, the Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Daredevil, Doctor Strange, and others.
It's Lee's second time at Salt Lake Comic Con. He was a last-minute addition to the first Comic Con last September and his presence helped cement the inaugural event as a serious contender among such events.
Lee will be at Salt Lake Comic Con for the final two days of the event, Friday and Saturday, Sept. 5 and 6.
