Bees' rally falls short vs. Omaha | The Salt Lake Tribune

The Salt Lake Bees lost 7-4 Friday night in Omaha, after scoring two runs in the ninth inning in a comeback attempt that ultimately fell short.

J.B. Shuck and Roberto Lopez both went 2 for 4 with an RBI for the Bees. Caleb Clay (3-4) took the loss, allowing six earned runs on six hits, with only one strikeout, in three innings. The Storm Chasers outhit the Bees 12-9.

Omaha got off to a fast start with four runs in the first inning. After the Bees scored their first runs in the third, the Storm Chasers matched it with two of their own in the bottom of the inning. Carlos Peguero was one of three Storm Chasers to hit a home run, and he ended the night 3 for 5 with four RBIs. Clayton Mortensen (5-3) took the win for Omaha, allowing only two earned runs off five hits in seven innings.

The loss meant that Salt Lake split its series with Omaha 2-2. The Bees will travel to Iowa next for another four-game series.
