Jackson, Wyo. • Boaters in the Jackson Hole region in northwest Wyoming often disregard the state's requirement that they have their water craft inspected for aquatic invasive species.

A state Game and Fish Department report says three of the five statewide checkpoints where boaters were least likely to have their boats inspected were in the Jackson region.

A Game and Fish spokesman tells the Jackson Hole News & Guide (http://bit.ly/1rivi5I) that wardens are finding that non-motorized watercraft are the biggest problem.

In addition, boats are being missed, particularly when out-of-state visitors drive into Jackson Hole at night.

Invasive species decals are required annually for all watercraft except inflatable boats less than 10 feet long, paddleboards or other water toys.
