The Salt Lake Bees had a brief scare in their Monday game against the Iowa Cubs trailing 4-1 after the second inning but they rallied to a 7-5 win, earning their third victory of the four-game series.
Vance Albitz starred for the Bees, going 3 for 4 with two home runs one in the sixth inning and one in the eighth and two RBIs. Luis Jimenez knocked in another home run the first run of the game and tallied two RBIs. Salt Lake outhit Iowa 13-7.
The Cubs scored almost all their runs in the second inning, when a Logan Watkins double knocked in three RBIs.
Anthony Lerew (4-4) earned the win for the Bees, and starting pitcher Jarrett Grube had four earned runs and six strikeouts in five innings. Michael Kohn earned the save with three strikeouts in 11⁄3 innings.
Tuesday's game at 11:05 a.m. will conclude the series.
