Aggies close practice as they prepare for Vols

Heads up for Aggie fans hoping to take in some of the few remaining practices scheduled for camp, with the Aggies turning their attention to Tennessee, coach Matt Wells has decided to close practice to the public and media. Wells said following Tuesday's scrimmage he was happy with the team's development through camp. USU used Tuesday's scrimmage primarily as an evaluation of the second and third string players. "We're all Aggies now," he said. "As coaches we will get in and grind through the tape and make our last evaluations before the first part of the season." The defense won Tuesday's scrimmage as the Aggies managed just one touchdown and one field goal and had 12 three-and-outs in the 14 drives. Damoun Patterson caught a 41-yard pass from backup Craig Harrison for the lone touchdown. Harrison was 4-of-14 for 56 yards and a touchdown and Darell Garretson was 9-of-14 for 43 yards. Junior Hunter Sharp, who has had one of the best camps of anyone, led the Aggies with four receptions for 20 yards and two carries for 24 yards. Junior linebackers Jarom Baldomero and LT Filiaga led USU with four tackles each and safety Jontrell Rocquemore had three tackles, two pass breakups and an interception.
