Provo • BYU's home football schedule this season is fairly weak, but in 2019 it will be one of the best ever — if that is any consolation for Cougar fans.

Wednesday, BYU and the University of Washington announced they have agreed to a home-and-home football series, beginning in 2018.

The 2018 game will be played on Sept. 29 at Husky Stadium in Seatlle, while the 2019 game will be played on Sept. 21 at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo.

BYU's 2019 home schedule now includes Washington, Wisconsin, Boise State and USC. Road games that year include Virginia and Washington State.

In 2018, BYU is also scheduled to play at Arizona, Wisconsin, Boise State and Utah, in addition to Washington.

"We're excited to announce this series with the Huskies," said BYU director of athletics Tom Holmoe in a school news release. "Washington has a great football tradition and they fit well with our philosophy of scheduling regional games. It gives our fans in the Pacific Northwest an opportunity to see our football team play live."

BYU now has 22 future games scheduled with nine different teams from the Pac-12 from 2014 through 2025. The only Pac-12 members BYU is not scheduled to play in that span are Oregon, Oregon State and Colorado.
