During the second annual Restaurant Week in South Salt Lake, 15 restaurants — serving everything from American and Asian to Greek and Pakistani cuisine — will offer special deals for diners.

The seven-day event kicks off Sunday, Aug. 24, and continues through Saturday, Aug. 30.

"We are thrilled to celebrate our city through Restaurant Week — a taste of what makes South Salt Lake a great place to live!" says Mayor Cherie Wood. "We hope the community will invite their co-workers, families, neighbors and friends to dine in South Salt Lake."

Amber Restaurant • 217 E. 3300 South. Get ham and eggs with home fried potatoes and toast or pancakes for $4.99. A quarter-pound cheeseburger with french fries also is $4.99.

Astro Burger • 2185 S. State. Get $1 off gyros.

Best Chicken & Ribs • 2700 S. State. Quarter chicken with rice, fries, or potato and a side salad, $6.99.

Cakes de Fleur • 235 W. Plymouth, Suite 2. Get a 6-inch cake for $6.99 (originally $12.99).

Good Future Hot Pot City • 285 E. 2700 South. Discounts on all noodles and bento boxes.

Ho Mei BBQ House • 3370 S. State. Weekly lunch specials come with free soda. All barbecue items on the menu are $1 off.

IHOP • 307 W. 2100 South. Children eat free after 4 p.m. Get 2 free kids' meals with each adult entrée purchased. Buy one, get second entrée 50 percent off. Free refills with lemonade splashers.

Left Fork Grill • 68 W. 3900 South. Roasted turkey sandwich with cranberry on ciabatta bread for $7.99.

Leger's Deli • 241 W. 2100 South. Pulled pork half sandwich, $6.75. Comes with a free bag of chips or a fountain drink. Whole sandwiches, $11.60.

Mano Thai Diner • 41 W. 3300 South. Chicken noodle soup (pho-style) for lunch or dinner, $5.

Mi Ranchito Grill • 3600 S. State. Buy one entrée and two soft drinks and get second entrée free. Includes lunch buffet, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Maximum discount $13.

Pat's BBQ & Catering • 155 W. Commonwealth Ave. Smoked chicken salad sandwich on ciabatta with smoked gouda, roasted red pepper and chopped romaine lettuce. Served with a cold pasta salad.

Red Mermaid Bistro • 3333 S. State. All Japanese bento boxes 20 percent off. All sushi rolls 50 percent off, with the exception of the Red Mermaid and Blue Ocean Rolls.

Runnin' Café • 2500 S. Main (inside Bonwood Bowl). A 16-inch pepperoni pizza for $12; or hamburger and a medium drink, $7.
