Police confirmed on Thursday that they had contacted an Ogden hit-and-run suspect who allegedly left a motorcyclist in the hospital.

Ogden police would not identify the male suspect, who had not been charged, but did say a white hatchback car matching the description of the hit-and-run vehicle from the Tuesday night accident had been found in Harrisville and its driver contacted Wednesday afternoon by police officers.

"The suspect was located and charges are pending, awaiting results to come back from blood tests," Ogden police Lt. Kevin Cottrell said.

About 10 p.m. Tuesday, a northbound vehicle struck the still-unidentified motorcyclist at 1000 N. Washington Blvd., and then drove away.

The victim, who was not wearing a helmet, was initially hospitalized in critical condition, but had been upgraded to good condition late Thursday, after doctors determined his injuries largely consisted of broken bones and abrasions.
