If you need a fix of good independent movies in Salt Lake City this week, you better take care of it early.

The Broadway Centre Cinemas, at 111 E. 300 South, Salt Lake City, will be closed for remodeling from Monday through Thursday of next week, Aug. 25 to 28.

The six-screen theater's lobby, concession counter and restrooms will be improved, according to the Salt Lake Film Society, the nonprofit that runs both the Broadway and the Tower Theatre.

The theater will reopen on Friday, Aug. 29, though construction will continue for a few more weeks.

The remodeling is being funded by a grant from the Broadway's landlord, Hamilton Partners.

The Tower, at 876 E. 900 South, Salt Lake City, will stay open all week, playing the new documentary "Dinosaur 13" (opening today) and Richard Linklater's "Boyhood" from Monday through Thursday.
