A motorcyclist remained in critical but improved condition Monday, two days after being involved in a Kearns crash that killed his female passenger.
Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said doctors at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray reported that vital signs had stabilized for the 23-year-old driver of the Yamaha bullet bike that rearended a car late Saturday night.
UPD said that 24-year-old Karen Sant of Sandy died at the scene of the accident at 5600 West and 6200 South. Just before 11 p.m., a southbound Chevrolet Cruze turned left at the 6200 South intersection, turning in front of a northbound Pontiac Grand Am that was ahead of the motorcycle.
After the two cars collided, the motorcycle smashed into the Pontiac, and possibly the Cruze.
A 53-year-old woman in one of the vehicles was taken to Pioneer Valley Hospital with non-life threatening injures.
The accident remained under investigation on Monday.
