Brennan Boesch of the Salt Lake Bees has been named to the 2014 Pacific Coast League All-Star team as the designated hitter, the club has announced.

Heading into Monday night's game against New Orleans at Smith's Ballpark, Boesch is hitting .326. He has 22 home runs, 77 RBIs and leads the league in slugging percentage (.619).

Boesch, 29, was named the PCL's Player of the Week on June 23. On Aug. 12, he broke a 20-year-old franchise record by reaching base in 11 straight at-bats. During the streak, he homered twice and doubled four times.

Originally selected by the Detroit Tigers in the third round of the 2006 draft, Boesch is finishing his first year in the Los Angeles Angels' organization. He has been called up twice by the Bees' parent club and, on Aug. 19, he doubled home the winning run in the ninth inning against Boston at Fenway Park.
