A 71-year-old Salt Lake City man died after an oncoming pickup truck swerved into his path near the east Texas town of Longview.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said Edward Bradley was eastbound on Interstate 20 just before 5 a.m. Sunday when the pickup, driven by a 19-year-old man, crossed the median and hit Bradley's vehicle head-on, about 6 miles southwest of Longview.

Bradley was pronounced dead about three hours later at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview.

The pickup's driver was in critical condition Monday, troopers said.

Troopers were investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.
