Letter: Bizarre parking on 300 South

Recently I met some friends for lunch at Su Casa on 300 South between 500 East and 600 East in Salt Lake City.

What a mess.

The city had re-striped the parking in a totally bizarre manner on this section of the street. All four of us, arriving separately, couldn't understand how we were to park and separately ended up parking on another block. The re-striping was not just angle or horizontal lines, but all kinds of confusing stripes going in opposite directions.

During our enjoyable lunch at the outside cafe, no less than two dozen cars started to park, couldn't figure it out, then drove away.

Whoever authorized this striping should enjoy a lunch at Su Casa and watch the show.

An unintended (I hope) result will occur whenever a light snow dusts the street covering these crazy stripes, which will result in everyone parking illegally when the snow melts.

Please fix this.
