Utah State reduces Tennessee lead 31-7

Mistakes continue to hurt the Aggies here at Neyland Stadium to help the Vols take a 17-0 lead into halftime.

Early in the game the Aggies fumbled a kickoff return that was recovered by the Vols. They promptly scored on a 12-yard touchdown pass to make it a 14-0 lead.

In the second quarter, Aggies' quarterback Chuckie Keeton overthrew his receiver and the ball was snagged by Tennessee defender Cameron Sutton at Utah State's 45-yard line.

The Aggies held the Vols to a 36-yard field goal as the defense continued to play relatively well.

Unfortunately for the Aggies, the offense just couldn't get much going.

The run game was stuffed in the middle by the Vols' defense, with the Aggies managing just 34 yards on 13 attempts.

Keeton played well, save for the overthrown pass, but could do little to rally his team as his receivers dropped two passes.

Keeton was 10-of-18 for 63 yards in the first half.

The most glaring stat though was a 1-of-7 for the Aggies in third down conversions.
