It's a warm and sunny — if a little smoky — Labor Day.

Smoke from Northern California and Oregon wildfires continues to blow into northern Utah, keeping the air quality no better than "moderate" in Salt Lake, Tooele, Utah, Davis, Weber and Cache counties, according to the Utah Division of Air Quality. Among them, only Cache County improves to "healthy" Tuesday.

"If smoke becomes thick, persons with existing heart or respiratory ailments should reduce physical exertion and outdoor activity," the division cautions.

Otherwise, it may be meteorologically autumn now, but the weather is warming up. Salt Lake City can expect a high of 79 degrees Monday, followed by a high of 88 on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. The service's forecasters predict St. George will see a high of 98 on Monday and 99 on Tuesday.
