An 11-year-old girl was in critical condition Wednesday after the car she was riding in was broadsided by an SUV in Ogden.

Ogden police Lt. Tim Scott said the accident occurred about 8 a.m. when a northbound Acura sedan attempted to make a left turn at 475 N. Wall Ave. and was struck by a southbound Chevrolet Trailblazer.

The girl suffered a possibly fractured hip and internal injuries and was rushed to McKay-Dee Hospital. The driver of the Trailblazer was taken to Ogden Regional in fair condition, complaining of neck and back pain.

Scott said the Acura's driver, who was the girl's aunt, was cited for failure to yield.
