Utah man charged with threat of terrorism after FBI threats

A Utah man accused of repeatedly threatening FBI agents was charged Monday with second-degree felony threat of terrorism.

Robert Zickella Jr., 49, of St. George, made his initial appearance Tuesday in Washington County's 5th District Court. He is accused of calling the St. George FBI office 112 times, and had allegedly left messages on Saturday threatening to blow up the FBI building, according to a St. George police probable cause statement.

The man also allegedly threatened to rape FBI agents and their families, according to court records.

Zickella will be back in court again on Sept. 8 for a scheduling hearing.

On Tuesday, a judge ordered that Zickella could be released from jail if he posted $10,000 bail. But according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office's website, Zickella was still in their county jail as of Wednesday.

According to a search of Utah court records, Zickella has not been charged with a crime since a 1996 simple assault conviction in Provo.
