Letter: Business should show respect, too

Most people have a "eureka" moment at one time or another. Mike Smith's eureka moment ("Show the job creators some respect," Sept. 3) is obviously business oriented! Even an old-time liberal as myself has to admit that we need businesses.

The problem that we have is with the greed factor that has mushroomed in American business. A long time ago I have learned that when my car needed service, I have to find out which mechanic to use in order to avoid the ones who always find a new problem to charge! Nowadays most businesses have learned from those shady mechanics!

When purchasing an airline flight, the price quoted will be ballooned by fees. Visit a dentist, and he will find more teeth to clean and more to fill to fatten the bill. We all have been to the grocery store and have seen the prices raised at a whim. Yet our government assured us that there is no inflation!

When will the next "eureka" moment be upon us?
