Posted: 10:22 AM- A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault after police say he stabbed a man in the eyes during a large street fight in Provo on Wednesday night.

An off-duty police officer spotted the group rioting at about 7 p.m. near 500 S. 500 East and stopped to investigate. Witnesses told him the suspect, who was holding a knife in his hand, had punched another man in the face. The stabbed man's injuries were not life threatening, said Provo Police Lt. John Geyerman.

The stabbing suspect was booked into Utah County Jail on suspicion of aggravated assault, rioting and underage drinking. Eleven people, including several juveniles, were cited for rioting.

Witnesses told police the two men had planned the fight, and had fought on Tuesday night as well. Geyerman does not believe the incident is gang related.
