Apparently, Jim Rome can't get enough of BYU superstar Jimmer Fredette. The Jimmer will appear on Rome's "Jim Rome is Burning" show on ESPN today at 2:30 p.m. MST. Fredette was on Rome's national radio show two weeks ago. The other day, after he was on the Dan Patrick Show, I asked Fredette who is the best interviewer among the national radio guys. He said both Patrick and Rome were funny, but also volunteered the fact that he really enjoyed his chat with ESPN's Scott Van Pelt. ————————— Don't expect Fredette to be named the MWC's Player of the Week this morning at 10 a.m. My guess is that the Cougars nominated another player, perhaps Jackson Emery. Although he didn't match the scoring output of Fredette (25 vs. Air Force; 23 vs. Utah), San Diego State's D.J. Gay had a nice week, scoring 18 points in the blowout of Utah and added 20 points in the road win over UNLV. ————————— Coach Dave Rose will participate in the MWC Coaches Teleconference this morning, but after that we won't be hearing much from the Cougars until Thursday. There's no media availability after before or after practice today, Tuesday or Wednesday as the Cougars rest up, do a little fine-tuning, and prepare for Saturday's game at TCU (which is already a sellout at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum — although I have a hunch it will be a lot like last week's game at Air Force where half the crowd is comprised of BYU fans).
