Seven years ago, I interviewed the great character actor Bruce Dern ("Big Love," "Silent Running," and the upcoming "Nebraska") about his grandfather, George Henry Dern, the 21st governor of Utah who served two terms from 1925 to 1933 and was the second non-Mormon and Democrat to lead the state.
What he neglected to tell me — which he told the Huffington Post today — is that he once was babysat by none other than First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt.

He's a great guy to interview and was full of wonderful stories (including the day he was filming the science fiction movie "Silent Running" and George Lucas visited the set and saw the little robots in the movie that inspired Lucas to create R2D2).
