Greg W. Jeppesen , has been promoted to audit and business advisory services manager for Tanner LC. He has practiced public accounting at the company for five years and has significant experience in the financial services and trucking industries.

Mountain America Credit Union has named Seth Holdaway as manager of its 5400 South branch. He has more than 11 years of financial-services experience. Before coming to Mountain America, he was branch manager at Beehive Credit Union and a trainer and senior loan officer at Utah Community Credit Union.

Jenifer Tomchak, of the law firm of Parr Brown Gee & Loveless, has been named president-elect of the Young Lawyers Division of the Utah State Bar for 2010-11. The YLD is comprised of approximately 2,000 lawyers under age 36 or who have been admitted to their first state bar for fewer than five years. It is the largest and one of the most active sections of the Utah State Bar.

Nicole C. Evans, of Ballard Spahr's Salt Lake City office, has been named partner. She is a member of the Real Estate Department.

Two project managers from JBNA Consulting, an electrical engineering and lighting design firm, have passed their Professional Engineer exams. Josh Oakeson , associate, and Brian Hicks , senior associate, obtained their P.E. licenses in Electrical Engineering.

Electrical Contractors Inc., a Price-based electrical firm, has hired Steve Hansen as general manager. Hansen will oversee the electrical contracting portion of the company, allowing current general manager Stoney Jensen to handle special projects. ECI also has general contracting and pipe insulation divisions for its work in Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico and Montana.

Bank of Utah has announced the retirement of executive vice president/chief lending officer Ronald A. Schulthies . He will retire from his eight-year position Dec. 31. Taft G. Meyer will replace Schulthies, starting July 14 and will work with Schulthies during the transition period.

Ryan L. Marshall , an associate in the Salt Lake City office of Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, has been recognized as a "Rising Star" in the Mountain States by Super Lawyers magazine in the area of intellectual property for the second year in a row.

Alan Seegrist, of The Buckner Company, was named Health Underwriter of the Year by the Utah Chapter of The National Association of Health Underwriters. He received this award at the association's annual convention in May.

Bank of Utah's executive vice president and chief financial officer, Douglas L. DeFries has been recognized as a Utah CFO of the Year by Utah Business magazine in association with the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants.

Mountain West Telecom has added a new business development manager, Robert Gilchrist . A former Nortel sales engineer, Gilchrist is helping to put Mountain West Telecom in an advantageous position for taking on new business.

Chris Harrington has been appointed general manager of two Park City lodging establishments: The Lodge at Stillwater, which is run by LaTour Hotels and Resorts, and Shadow Ridge Resort & Conference Center, a timeshare-rental program operated by Tapestry Resorts.

Powdr Corp has appointed Jenni Smith president and general manager of Park City Mountain Resort. She most recently served as vice president of resort administration and development at the resort.

Mark Mesesan , a communications specialist for URS Corp. at the U.S. Army's Chemical Agent Disposal Facility in Tooele, has been accredited by the International Association of Business Communicators. Mesesan has been with URS, and its predecessor company, EG&G, since 1997. Before that, he was an anchor/reporter for five years in Salt Lake City with KTVX and KSL.
