I wrote up two stories today from two ends of the FLDS polygamy world: Warren Jeffs' attorney is facing a drug possession charge and a mistrial has been declared in the Bruce Wisan trespass case (he's the court appointed administrator of the FLDS property trust).
Speaking of Warren Jeffs' attorneys, I filled in some blanks with the Schleicher County court clerk today. First, two attorneys whose names haven't been as widely reported: Carla Marie Perron of Houston and Gerald Ratliff of San Angelo. That means there were a total of nine attorneys of record on that case.
Detoto, Deric Walpole and Jed Silverman, were released in court by Judge Walther following the trial.
But Detoto, along with the erstwhile Jeff Kearney and his partner Reagan Wynn, are still listed as attorneys of record on Jeffs' bigamy case, set to go to trial in October.
Still no appeal of Jeffs' conviction filed yet.
*corrects from Perron and Ratliff being new attroneys. Updated 9/1/11
