Utah's best high school basketball player is back on the open market.
Lone Peak guard Frank Jackson has de-committed from Brigham Young University and re-opened his recruitment, multiple sources told the Salt Lake Tribune on Friday. With that, Jackson becomes one of the most sought after players, not only in the state, but nationally as well.
Jackson's collegiate list, according to sources, contains some of the best and most competitive schools in the country. BYU is still under consideration, and the University of Utah moves into the picture as well. They will join UCLA, Duke, Arizona, Arizona State and Stanford in a chase to gain his services.
Why is Jackson so touted? Simply put, he's one of the best prep scorers nationally in the Class of 2016. A 6-foot-3 combination guard, Jackson can get his offense, seemingly anytime he wants. He's already a state champion, having teamed with TJ Haws last season to lead Lone Peak to the Class 5A title. Lone Peak is an overwhelming favorite to win the title this year, and to be one of the best teams in the nation.
Jackson, according to one prominent talent evaluator, could end up being the best shooting guard in his graduating class. He's ranked as one of the top 35 players in the country, and could end up being a McDonald's All-American, one of the highest achievements for a high school player.
