A 12-year-old girl was accidentally shot and killed Sunday in Kaysville, according to authorities.

Police confirmed to KUTV-Ch. 2 that the shooting happened about 2:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of Cooper Street. KUTV's Christine McCarthy tweeted about 4:15 p.m. that Kaysville police said the girl had died after being accidentally shot by her sister in their home.
