I'm back in the office today after a few days in Colorado City/Hildale with everyone's favorite polygamy photographer, Trent Nelson. Check out a few of his shots from our trip here, at his Fly on the Wall blog.
It was, as always, an interesting trip. Among other things, we met up with Lorin Holm shortly after a hearing in his custody case. Lorin's seeking custody of his nine minor children after he was cast out of the Warren Jeffs-led Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints just over a year ago (read my story about his case here and the St. George Spectrum story about the hearing here)
At the Thursday hearing, a St. George judge, James Shumate, appointed a guardian ad-litem for Lorin's kids, but decided not to immediately remove the children from the care of their mothers without the guardian ad-litem's input, according to court records. Two more hearings were set for Feb. 21 and March 21.
