Gov. Gary R. Herbert has appointed Jennifer Brown as a 4th District Court judge to fill a vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Donald Eyre.

Herbert called Brown "a woman of high character whose wisdom and experience will greatly benefit the 4th District."

Brown is a partner with the Tesch Law Offices in Park City. She has practiced law as both corporate in-house counsel and associate at various firms in Salt Lake City, including LeBoeuf, Lamb and Chapman and Cutler. Brown was named to Utah's Legal Elite for Commercial Litigation in 2006, 2008 and 2013.

"I am honored to have received the governor's nomination to the 4th District Court," said Brown in a news release. "I have a great love for the state of Utah and a deep respect for our legal system and the judiciary. I am very grateful for the opportunity to serve in this capacity."

A cum laude graduate from J. Reuben Clark Law School at BYU, Brown has been admitted to the Utah State Bar, Utah Federal District Court, the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals and the Northern District of Illinois.
