A short police chase that ended in a crash caused a temporary closure of the 3300 South on-ramp to northbound Interstate 15 on Monday afternoon.

KUTV 2News reported that at about 3:40 p.m., a Unified Police officer saw a vehicle pulling a small cement mixer that was being dragged on its side near 3300 South and West Temple.

The officer tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver pulled onto the freeway on ramp, where it rolled, 2News reported.

The driver, a 32-year-old woman, fled on foot to a nearby motel, where she was arrested.

Police said the vehicle and cement mixer had been stolen.

The woman was to be booked into jail on suspicion of vehicle theft and fleeing from police.

The on-ramp was closed until about 5:20 p.m.
