Talisker Inc. wants a narrow strip of about 30 acres of federal forest land to build a gondola between Park City's Canyons Resort, which it owns, and Solitude in Big Cottonwood Canyon. The proposal is opposed by environmentalists.

There is a compromise to the SkiLink conundrum that should satisfy everyone.

If Talisker offered an exchange of 300 acres of nearby, comparable quality, private land adjacent to the national forest, most reasonable environmentalists would be more than happy, and Talisker could have its gondola.
