A tennis club whose tent was destroyed in a large landslide on a Utah hill last fall is suing North Salt Lake City and the developer who built homes nearby.
The Eagleridge Tennis Club argues in a lawsuit filed last week that the city and developers knew the hillside was unstable but didn't stop development before the August landslide, which also destroyed a home.
No one was injured.
When asked for a comment, Eaglepointe Development vice president W. Scott Kjar said Wednesday the company is trying to settle the issue with all stakeholders but the tennis club wanted a lawsuit.
Kjar has said Eaglepointe's work in the area was properly permitted.
City manager Barry Edwards says the city contends it isn't responsible for landslides and doesn't believe it's liable to the tennis court.
