You may have heard how the FLDS have been told their righteousness and faith will free their prophet, Warren Jeffs, from prison.
Attorney Roger Hoole on Wednesday showed reporter Jim Dalrymple and me a drawing that illustrates the point well. The drawing is of a rose with six words written across it.
"Uncle Warrens Deliverance Depends Upon Me!" The last word is underlined. And, yes, there should be an apostrophe before the final letter in "Warrens."
Hoole says he found the drawing in the Holm School, where many FLDS sent their children until the private school's leader was excommunicated on Dec. 15, 2011.
Hoole assumes a teacher made the drawing sometime between 2007 and 2010. He says the drawing was hanging on a wall among letters of the alphabet, as though it was something for the children to learn.
Hoole and one of his clients, Wallace Jeffs, presented the drawing to make their point that those FLDS still loyal to Warren Jeffs will keep their loyalty and not participate in the process to dissolve the trust and distribute its assets.
"They won't participate," Wallace Jeffs told us. "There's no way they will."
Despite that concern, Hoole and Wallace Jeffs, a half brother to the imprisoned prophet, favor a plan returning property to current and former followers of Warren Jeffs.
