Family members of a Utah teenager killed in a tsunami in Thailand are returning to the south Asia country next week. Stuart Breisch and Sally Nelson are making the trip to assess how to use the $40,000 contributed so far to the 4Kali.org Foundation to best help the Thai people. Among the donations were $1,400 by the pupils of Oakwood Elementary School in Salt Lake City and an additional $250 from 12-year-old Ashton Palmer, who requested money for the fund in place of birthday presents. The students presented a check Thursday to the foundation in honor of Kali Breisch, 15, who was swept away Dec. 26 by a gigantic wave while on vacation. Father Stuart; his then-fiancee and now-wife Nelson; brother Jai, 16; and sister Shonti, 18, survived the disaster. Stuart Breisch acknowledged the trip to Thailand, where he searched for Kali for almost a week before confirming she was dead, will be sad. But he said, "Going back is going to be a way of giving back." - Pamela Manson
