A 28-year-old man was killed instantly Thursday when his car crossed the center line and collided head-on with a semi-trailer rig on Highway 13, just outside of the Box Elder town of Corinne.

Jordan R. Hales, of Willard, who was not wearing a seat belt, was dead at the scene after being ejected from his Subaru Legacy.

Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce said the crash occurred about 9 a.m. The car was traveling east, about a mile outside of Corinne, when it drifted into the path of the westbound big rig.

The semi went off the road after the collision, but the driver and co-driver were not injured.

The cause of the accident remained under investigation.
