With the honor code in place, traditions of the college experience on a Friday or Saturday night are hard to experience at BYU, according to former Cougar quarterback Jim McMahon.
McMahon, interviewed for Comcast Sportsnet Chicago's "Inside Look", lamented the lack of college life in Provo, saying "it was a tough place to go to school."
"It just wasn't what college life was supposed to be like," McMahon said. "I talk to all these other guys, they talk about their schools all the time, how much fun they had, but the only fun we had pretty much was on Saturdays or Friday nights. That was game day. Other than that, it was a tough place to go to school."
McMahon, who criticized the honor code four years ago when center Brandon Davies was kicked off BYU's basketball team, was inducted into the BYU Hall of Fame last October.
