The body of a missing 29-year-old man has been recovered from the water at Pineview Reservoir in Weber County, and his death is believed to be a drowning.

The man, Seven Samuel Hughes of Clearfield, had arrived Thursday night at the Anderson Cove campground on Highway 39 with family members, according to a news release from the Weber County Sheriff's Office. Shortly after setting up camp, he unexpectedly left at about 10:30 p.m., the release says.

Family members searched for him that night and contacted the sheriff's office on Friday morning. They said that because of mental health issues, it was not uncommon for Hughes to leave unannounced, according to the release.

Deputies and marine patrol units searched the area and late in the afternoon found clothing belonging to Hughes on the dock at Anderson Cove. Using sonar equipment, marine patrol deputies located a possible body in the water about 10 p.m. Friday and divers recovered the body shortly before midnight.

The sheriff's office noted that Hughes' death fell on the same day that a 16-year-old girl's body was recovered a year ago.

"The Sheriff's Office wishes to remind everyone to use caution whenever they go out on the water," the news release says. "This includes never swimming alone and always having proper safety gear such as a lifejacket."
