The second of two teens charged with hazing members of the Bountiful High School wrestling team last year has resolved his criminal case with a plea in abeyance.

Christopher Brooks Fletcher, 18, pleaded no contest last week in 2nd District Court to one count each of class A misdemeanor sexual battery and one count of class B misdemeanor hazing.

In exchange for his plea, prosecutors dismissed a second count of sexual battery.

The case will be dismissed in a year if he pays a $100 court fee and commits no new crimes.

Last month, Lamar Allen Gimmeson, 19, who was charged with one count each of class A misdemeanor sexual battery and one count of class B misdemeanor hazing, entered a guilty plea in abeyance to the hazing charge, and the sexual battery count was dismissed. He was ordered by a judge to pay a $100 fee and complete 80 hours of community service.

On Dec. 20, two alleged victims, both 15 years old, were riding on a bus as the team returned from a wrestling meet in Farmington. One boy said he was aware that junior and senior members were calling younger members to the back of the bus for hazing, according to the charges.

Gimmeson held one of the victims down while Fletcher pushed his fingers into the boy's rectum over his clothing, according to charging documents. A second boy was allegedly assaulted by Fletcher in a similar way, charges state.

Both 15-year-olds were also punched in the genitals, charges state.

When the boys finished hazing the victims, they said, "Welcome to the team," according to the charges.

Charging documents identify Gimmeson as an assistant coach, who had been a former member of the Bountiful High School wrestling team. Fletcher was a member of the team at the time of the hazing, according to court records.

Davis School District officials said seven students in all were suspended after the incident.
