Pittsford, N.Y. • Bills quarterback EJ Manuel insists he's focused solely on winning back his old starting job.

And yet, he acknowledged for the first time that his days in Buffalo might be numbered.

Manuel told The Associated Press that so long as he plays well, the rest should take care of itself. He then added: "If it's here or whether it's somewhere else, I don't know."

Buffalo's 2013 first-round draft pick spoke Monday, after Buffalo opened a two-day session of joint practices with Cleveland. The comments were made as it's becoming more evident Manuel has slipped to third in a three-way quarterback competition, behind Matt Cassel and Tyrod Taylor.

Manuel's practice time with the starters gradually diminished last week. He's spent the past two days working mostly with the third-string offense.
