The surgery was performed in Los Angeles, and Exum will do the bulk of his rehabilitation in Salt Lake City, once he is cleared to travel.
Now, the question is when will Exum return? The Tribune has been told that the Jazz don't want to put a specific timetable on Exum getting back to basketball, whether the timeline is fast, or slow. The organization simply wants its prized point guard to concentrate on returning fully to health.
Exum originally injured the knee on August 4th, playing for the Australian National Team against Slovenia. Since, Exum's been engaging in pre-rehab work and prepping for his surgery. A 6-foot-6 guard from Australia, Exum had a spotty rookie season. He became the starting point guard in January and played well defensively. He struggled some with his shot, however.
Exum showed signs this summer of massive improvement. In his one summer league game for the Jazz, he scored 20 points against the Boston Celtics. He was a starter at shooting guard for Australia, before he got hurt driving to the basket.
