Unified Police are "greatly concerned" for a woman's safety and are looking for her husband in connection to a Millcreek shooting.

Police are looking for Christopher McMillan, 43, and want to check on the welfare of his wife, Veronica McMillan, 43, after they responded to reports of gunshots at a Millcreek home on Friday.

About 12:48 p.m. Friday, dispatchers received two calls about gunshots near the 1900 East block of Millbrook Drive (3460 South). But when officers arrived and searched the home — a mansion that had been subdivided into apartments — they did not find any victims, said police Lt. Lex Bell on Friday.

However, detectives eventually learned that Christopher McMillan's brother reportedly showed up at their mother's home in Layton with a bullet wound in his foot, according to a Unified Police news release.

Investigators later interviewed the man at a Davis County hospital, and learned that the brothers were allegedly arguing at the Millcreek house. The brothers' names are on the lease for the apartment, but Bell did not immediately know whether Veronica McMillan also lives there.

At some point, Chrisopher McMillan went outside to the car where his wife, Veronica McMillan, was waiting, according to the release.

"The brother then heard three gunshots from the area of the car," the release reads. "He ran to his door to see what had happened and was greeted by Christopher holding a gun."

The brothers struggled over the gun as Christopher McMillan allegedly tried to shoot his brother, the release adds. More shots were fired and the brother was hit in the foot. Christopher McMillan then fled, police say. Police have not been able to find him or his wife.

"According to family members, Christopher has made comments that he is on a 'suicide mission,'" the release reads. "The victim said Christopher is high on meth and bath salts and he's 'going to kill someone'."

Christopher McMillan is on felony probation, and Unified police say he has an "extensive and violent criminal history." Police consider him to be armed and "extremely dangerous" and "believe he poses a serious risk to the public and any police officer with whom he comes in contact," the release adds.

Unified police ask that anyone with information about Christopher McMillan's whereabouts to call them at 801-743-7000. Christopher McMillan may be driving either a silver Honda Odyssey van or a white Lexus 400 series passenger car, according to police.

"We also ask that if anyone has contact with Veronica McMillan, that they call UPD as well so that we can check her welfare," according to the release.
