A Utah woman will appeal her aggravated murder conviction in crime spree that left a sheriff's deputy dead.

Court records show that 19-year-old Meagan Grunwald filed a notice of appeal Monday. She was found guilty of serving as the getaway driver for her boyfriend during a 2014 chase.

She testified that she was 17 when Jose Angel Garcia-Jauregui forced her to drive at gunpoint as he shot Sgt. Cory Wride and a second officer. Garcia-Jauregui was fatally shot by police after the chase.

Prosecutors, though, say Grunwald loved her much older boyfriend and was a willing accomplice in the violence. She was convicted on 11 charges.

Grunwald is serving up to life in prison, and won't get her first chance at parole until she's 45.
