While dishing out assists on the court, Dani Rodriguez has been helping off of it as well.

The Utah women's basketball senior point guard is one of 10 national honorees (and five Division I honorees) on the Allstate WBCA Good Works Team, which recognizes community service among women's basketball players.

Rodriguez will be honored with the other members of the Good Works Team at the 2016 Women's Final Four in Indianapolis, and will participate in a service project there. She's Utah's first-ever women's basketball player to be awarded a spot on the team.

Rodriguez was picked for her involvement through the university's Student-Athlete Academic Committee, where she's helped organize drives to feed the city's homeless and bring Christmas presents to impoverished children. Some other things she's collected over the years: box tops, canned food, shampoo/conditioner.

She's worked for a program that walks senior citizens' dogs in wintery weather to prevent them from slipping, and built a house in the Salt Lake Valley with Habitat for Humanity. She's also a regular volunteer at Hillside Middle School and Lincoln Elementary school, and she does coaching for West High girls' basketball and Utah Flash AAU teams.

As a player, Rodriguez has started 118 of 119 games she's played, accounting for No. 5 all-time in assists (416) in program history.
